In Response to SNAP Crisis, The Association of Community Ministries Launches Campaign to Support Neighbors in Need

Who:  The Association of Community Ministries (ACM)

What:  ACM will announce its campaign to raise much-needed funds and food to support our neighbors in need as food insecurity mounts and SNAP benefits have not been released for November.  Many of our most vulnerable neighbors, including elders, those with disabilities, those on fixed incomes, and families with young children will be struggling to put food on the table.  We know Louisville is a generous city, and we are calling on everyone who can to contribute to their neighborhood Community Ministry’s pantry with funds or nonperishable food, or donate directly to the Association of Community Ministries.

When:  Thursday, October 30, 1:00pm

Where:  Highlands Community Ministries pantry, 1228 E. Breckinridge St., Louisville, one of the 13 Community Ministries

Background

The Association of Community Ministries and our 13 member Ministries are focused on meeting our neighbors immediate needs and serving all of Metro Louisville with food assistance, utilities assistance, and housing assistance.  Times are tough for many of our most vulnerable neighbors right now, and many are not sure how they will put food on the table in the month of November, when many of us are typically celebrating a food-centered holiday.  Folks throughout the community are asking how they can help.  Please give generously to the pantries at the Community Ministries.  Funds can be used to fill their most needed items, and each of us welcomes nonperishable foods as well.  Or give directly to the Association to help feed our neighbors.  Go to www.LouisvilleMinistries.org to find your Community Ministry with your address or to donate to ACM.
